The Bowen Technique
The aim of the Bowen Technique is to
stimulate the body to work more efficiently.
This is achieved by stimulating the muscles, soft tissue and energy flow
within the body by using thumbs and fingers on precise points. Short periods of rest during the treatment
give the body time to make subtle and fine adjustments. These adjustments help
to relieve tension, reduce discomfort and initiate the healing process.
A Bowen treatment is
gentle. However, there may be certain areas which are more tender or sensitive
than others. The Bowen Technique helps
to encourage change in a wide range of conditions from insomnia to musculo-skeletal problems and is a deeply relaxing
experience. Treatments may be done
through clothing.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of medicine
which restores and maintains health by insertion of fine needles into specific
points on the surface of the body. The action of needling these points
stimulates the body to rebalance itself, catalyzing homeostasis by activating
our own recuperative and self-healing powers. Traditionally acupuncture is seen
as redirecting the vital energy of the body -the Qi,
which flows continuously around the meridian system, an energetic network of
channels that not only connects the acupuncture points to each other but also
directly influences the functioning of the internal organs and other
controlling systems of the body.
Reflexology – Feet
Reflexology
is a holistic therapy, which aims to treat the whole person, incorporating the
mind, body and spirit. It is based on the principle that areas of your feet,
the reflexes, relate to areas of your body. Reflexology is a treatment that
includes massaging and applying pressure to the feet’s reflexes in order to
connect with areas of the body so they will benefit. The aim is to stimulate
the body’s own healing process and encourage relaxation.
Reflexology – feet and hands
This treatment involves
massaging and manipulating reflex pressure points or energy zones found on the
feet and hands. These reflex points
correspond to glands and organs within the body.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu
is a deeply-relaxing Japanese holistic therapy based on ancient Oriental
principles, and it has become increasingly practiced in the West since the
latter half of the 20th century. It is sometimes referred to as ‘acupuncture
without needles’. During a Shiatsu
session a wide range of techniques may be used including pressure points,
finger and palm pressure, muscle and fascia release techniques, structural
adjustments, stretches and rotations. Treatments are
given on a floor-mat (futon), or on a special table or chair, with the client
wearing loose, comfortable clothing.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a gentle, yet effective
system of medicine and is suitable for all ages. It is in use worldwide and has
been practiced for over 200 years.
Homeopathy stimulates the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. Homeopaths
take into account all the symptoms of the person in order to prescribe a
remedy. It can be used instead of, or alongside conventional medicine.
Homeopathic remedies are safe and not addictive; they can be given confidently
to children and babies. All kinds of illnesses can be successfully
treated. The remedies have been through
a process of dilution which enables them to act as a catalyst on the subtle
energies of the body, to promote healing. Remedies are derived from a variety
of sources including plants and minerals. Remedies can be prepared in liquid or
tablet form and are not tested on animals.
Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional
therapy aims to improve health and well-being by promoting the body’s natural
ability to heal.
It
does this through detoxification, correction of nutritional deficiencies and by
improving vitality. Nutritional therapy
is holistic and therefore takes into consideration the effect emotional issues
can have upon the body.
Although
you may want to be treated for a specific condition, it is very likely that you
will also experience increased energy, clearer skin, improved mental clarity,
better quality of sleep, better resistance to infection and disease, weight
loss and enhanced well-being as a result of your treatment.
Reiki
A
gentle and ancient form of natural healing, Reiki comes from the Japanese
‘Rei’ – meaning unseen and ‘Ki’
meaning energy. In a Reiki treatment this energy is channelled
through the therapist and into the client to re-awaken or strengthen
your inner healing capabilities.
It
is a simple process that involves nothing more complex than laying hands on or
over the client's body; yet Reiki offers a deep sense of calm and
relaxation that can lead to many more profound outcomes. Reiki is a powerful therapy in its own right
but can be easily combined with massage, for example, to support a more
physical approach to well being.
EFT has been designed for ease of use and with guidance from a trained
practitioner you can use this wonderful technique for yourself without prior
knowledge about meridians.
The method is very simple – working entirely through the experiences and
feedback from the physical body, EmoTrance helps you
to unblock, shift and move stagnant energy allowing the *Oceans of Energy to
flow freely through you to bring about peace and joy. All negative states
of being can be easily dissolved as well as changes in belief and behavior.
